Lush // Honey Bee

Hello!

I'm back! After a weeks back :) sorry about that! I had a little Lush order lately and as I hadn't seen this one on their website before (although I don't think it's new) I decided I'd give it a go. I know that when you order these kind of products via the Internet, there is a chance you're going to dislike it and unfortunately this is one of those times.

Okay, so I liked the look of this bomb. I actually think it looks a bit like a tennis ball and not a bee, but each to their own. I'm also partial to honey scents so I thought I was on to a winner here, but no. Firstly, I don't think it smells like honey. I can't really describe it but it just smelt fusty to me, I guess there was a hint of honey but not enough to name the bomb Honey Bee. Secondly, what a boring bomb. I noticed very quickly that I was going to be getting into a bath that looked like I'd just pee'd in it and that is NOT enticing at all. All that aside, I decided it wasn't so bad. It actually made my skin feel like silk which is always a bonus, however bad a bomb is. So I hadn't put this down as a write off.. Until I got out the bath.

This is the monstrosity that Honey Bee left in my bath. Now, I know as a Lush addict that many bombs leave a slight residue. But this is awful. The stuff at the bomb of the bath? I'm pretty sure that's sand.. Sand?! It basically felt like grit and looked disgusting. So after seeing this, did I try and clean it off? No, I went to bed and told myself I would tackle it in the morning. Oh how I wish I had just got on with it. I spent almost 40 minutes, 40 minutes out of my one day off a week, literally scrubbing this off. I used bathroom cleaner, it didn't work, I used CIF, it didn't work so I got out the strongest bleach I had in the house and scrubbed my heart out. There is still a faint yellow rim going around my bath a week later. I won't be buying this bomb again, purely for this reason.

I HATE giving Lush bad reviews because as you all know, I am addicted to their products, but I guess no company is perfect! I have also read a lot of good reviews on this ballistic, but I wasn't going to lie and cherry coat it for you! That's what my blog is for, after all!

At £3.15, it's an average priced bomb and it's a good size, but it's nothing like I thought it would be and it is one of the few ballistics that I do not recommend.

Have you tried this bomb? Did your bath end up like this?!

  7. OMG the mess it left in your bath is horrendous! If it does that to your bath, I wouldn't want it on my skin! What a shame xx
