A little trip..

I am now away until Monday 1st September. My plan was to schedule a bunch of posts for you guys but unfortunately I have been super, super busy this week and haven't even had time to breathe, let alone blog! I am travelling to the beautiful island of Menorca where I will eat, sleep and sunbathe for a week. I have lots of posts planned upon my return so be assured, blogging will be back to normal in just over a week!

Listography // Cities

"We think about the future in a way that no other animal can, does, or ever has, and this simple, ubiquitous, ordinary act is a defining feature of our humanity"
- Daniel Gilbert, "Stumbling on Happiness"

So for my birthday, Sian brought me two 'Listography' books, one for current lists and one for future lists - as in, things I want to do. I still haven't written in either of these books, for fear of ruining the pages, (OCD right there). So, I decided, instead of writing it down, I'd type it out.. Into a blog post. And here begins the 'Listography' series. Enjoy.

CITIES YOU PLAN TO VISIT

VEGAS

The most popular city in the state of Nevada and known internationally for it's casinos, shopping, glamour, celebrities and night life. I never saw the need to visit Vegas, until March this year. Stuart and I, ventured into town after him telling me it's somewhere he's always wanted to venture and booked it. Just like that. Now, I am the most excited I have ever been, for anything. Since booking it, we have both scoured the Internet looking up anything and everything and it all just looks simply amazing. I'm not ashamed to say, I brag about it at every opportunity. It's not something that many 23 year olds can say they have done and I revel in that fact. 23rd February, 2015 I will be jetting to Sin City and I will have the time of my life.

ROME

This is a city I have wanted to visit for as long as I can remember. It's somewhere my parents have been to several times and have loved each and every time. I've never been to Italy and the country itself is somewhere I'd love to travel to. I'd visit the Vatican Museum, the Colosseum and I'd try 15 varieties of spaghetti bolognese. I love Italian food and I'd spend the days trying every type of pasta possible and dining at a different restaurant for each meal of the day. Italian is also a language I have always been desperate to learn and finally, Italian men. Just Italian men.

PARIS

I visited Paris for my 16th birthday, with my mother and a friend. As much as it was fun, we were only there two days and I was 16. Not old enough to appreciate beauty, cuisine or anything other than buying wool tank tops that I don't remember ever being in fashion. It's somewhere I am desperate to venture again, now that I'm older. I want to climb the Eiffel Tower, as cliché as that may be, it has to be done. I've never been one for French food, but I guess everyone has to try a snail, right? Hmm, we'll see. I'm sure there was something else? Oh yeah, DISNEYLAND. Enough said, I think.

CAPE TOWN

I have always wanted to visit Africa. There are so many parts I want to see, so many places I want to go. Mainly for the animal related side of things, but nevertheless, it is on my list. Cape Town is the second largest city and is technically the Capitol of South Africa. One of the things on my list would be visiting the Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, which is full of colourful buildings and quaint little back streets. I would also most certainly be climbing Table Mountain, which takes around 2 hours but from what I have seen, the view from the top is unbelievably worth it.

SYDNEY

I don't know a single person that doesn't want to visit Australia. Where better to start, than Sydney. I'm all for visiting little towns and unknown areas, but I think it's best to start off by experiencing a big city. I'd be straight to Bondi Beach, topping up my tan, surrounded by Aussie hotties with their surf boards and beach blonde hair. Oh, sorry Stuart, I got carried away there. Anyway, I know several people who have travelled to Australia and have loved Sydney and all that the city has to offer, so it's definitely on my hit list.

So, there you have it. The first 5 cities on my hit list. What do you think?

Favourite Folk // August Edition

It's been a while since I did one of these, but the series is back and boy, do I have some awesome blogs for you to take a peek at.

As always, Sian is top of my list. Not only is she my best friend, her blog is bloody brilliant. She has been blogging for a year now and has gained an amazing following as well as publishing some awesome posts. She's so dedicated and it makes me wish I had her motivation and creative skills so that I could apply them to my own blog. My favourite of her latest posts are My Favourite MAC (everyone can relate to this post) and her Happy 1st Birthday. Congratulations my little chicken nugget, keep up the incredible work.

Garnier VS L'Oreal Paris

I joined the Micellar hype a few months ago by purchasing L'Oreal's Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution. Even though this is classed as a cleanser, I used it as a toner, so shoot me. When I'd finished the product, I decided I wanted to try something else and so I chose Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (much easier title). Though the two are pretty similar, there are a few differences I wanted to point out.

Pink Lemonade

As I mentioned in Friday's post, I took a trip to Meadowhall recently. I didn't buy much, but the things I did buy, I adore. Including this little beauty. I have been lusting over this blusher palette ever since I saw Sian purchase it a few months ago. I seem to have developed a 'thing' for blushers lately and this product has only added fuel to the fire.

Banana Split & Beach Bag

I went to Meadowhall at the weekend and had my first Bottleshop experience! It wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, it was small, confined and very hot and busy! So I can honestly say, I'd rather just go into spacious Boots and take my pick. Nevertheless, I obviously treated myself to a couple of shades whilst there.

July Through Instagram

I said I wanted to take more pictures during July and I think I did quite well! Well enough to be able to do a whole post on Instagram photos from last month! These pictures are not in date order (who has time for that shit) so I apologise! Also, this post was supposed to go up yesterday but clearly Blogger had other ideas.

The Playlist // August

So I go on holiday this month and I started off by deciding I wanted a real Summer playlist - and ended up with this random mix of tunes! I'm a massive lover of boy bands (it's all about 5ive and Backstreet Boys) and 5 Seconds of Summer is now included. Even though I said I'd never give in to them!

This Cody Simpson is my Summer song for sure. It is seriously catchy and I annoy the girls at work by constantly screeched 'I see the rain, no ceiling!'. As you guys know, I adore Avenged Sevenfold (GOFFFFFFFFFFFF) and I'm loving all their albums lately so there's a few on here. I'm also a big fan of Gabrielle Aplin and thing her songs are beautiful!

What's on your August playlist?
Give me some recommendations!
