Good morning!
The other day I was looking at myself in the mirror, as you do and I realised, my skin is in the best condition it has ever been. Since getting myself into a skincare routine (which I whole-heartedly recommend) it's like I have a new face. No spots, no dry skin (only occasionally) nothing! So I thought I'd spend today's post talking about how my skin has come to this. Now this is just what my routine is ATM, I do change it up a bit because I like to try new products.
Ooo, the big blogger debate. Make-up wipes or make-up wipes? Before I started this blog, I only used make-up wipes and my skin was appalling, so I'm on the 'no make-up wipes' team. However, I think these are a good base of removing make-up. So every morning I use these first before anything else. I use Nivea because they're alcohol free and they don't irritate my skin, plus they're usually 3 for £5 in Boots. Bargain!
Onto cleanser. I brought this about 6 months ago and it's still going strong! I think I'm about ready for a new cleanser so let me know some good, cheap ones in the comments! I love this. It has Aloe in it, which doesn't irritate my skin, it just makes it feel cool and less red. I squeeze this onto a cotton pad (see below) and rub it onto my face. I know people put this straight onto their face and then wipe off, I tried that and it didn't feel right to me, so I do it my way now!
I've been using this a couple of months now. I use this as my toner after my cleanser. A lot of people I've spoken to have said they can use this to remove stubborn eye-make up? I tried it. Never again. My eyes must be overly sensitive to it. So I just use this to remove the last little bits of my make-up. It has made my skin feel extra dry on occasion, not sure if anyone else has noticed this?
I just realised that these look unnaturally big in my hand.. They are normal human sized, I promise. I just thought I'd chuck a picture of these in the post seeing as these are what I use every day. They're always on offer in Boots and they do the job!
I apologise for the blurry picture, not sure why it's like this. Okay, face masks. I'm currently using two. Every Monday night (I don't do anything productive on a Monday) I run myself a bath and use Cosmetic Warrior. I tried this about a year ago when my skin was bad and it literally cleared my skin up overnight. Designed for combination skin, it uses anti-bacterial tea tree and fresh garlic to cleanse your skin. It smells repulsive (Kasper loves it) but it does the job! Then, every Thursday I have started using No Clogs Allowed by Soap and Glory. I ADORE this product. When I first put it on, it was like my face was melting, in a heavenly way. It warms up on your face and is designed to prevent breakouts and blemishes. I left it on for 5 minutes and then rinsed it off and my skin felt like a baby's bottom. I will be reviewing both of these so that's all I'll say for now!
You may have noticed, no moisturiser! I'm currently not using one. Naughty naughty. I just can't seem to find one that doesn't either dry my skin out or make it feel greasy. So if any of you guys know a good, cheap combination one, please let me know in the comments!
What's your routine?

Both the masks sound lovely! Might have to pick these up when I've finished the blueberry one from Lush I'm currently using. In terms of moisturiser, I highly recommend the Vitamin E illuminating moisture cream from The Body Shop! It's light on the skin, moisturising and it also makes the skin glow beautifully. xo

Ooo I might give that a go then! I love Body Shop stuff! It seems to get on with my skin really well. I really recommend both of the masks! They're both awesome for combination skin!

I looooove the S&G mask, thank you for recommending it to me! :) xx
DeleteBotanics do a fantastic range of skin care products. Their organic and lew garden range is lovely and usually 3 for 2 in boots. I bought the sensitive cleanser, the rose water toner and moisturiser for my daughter and they smell and feel so good that I've started using them myself. There's a set for each skin type and I'd recommend them, especially the toner :) x
ReplyDeleteOoo well I need a new moisturiser! So this might be a good idea!
